A variable pressure technique to stimulate the lymph (body's waste products) to be expelled naturally.
This treatment is for people in pain from excess fluid build-up causing oedema or swelling in one or several parts of the body.
Oedema is usually a reaction by your body to:
- removal of lymph nodes or veins especially in legs
- cutting of lymph vessels during surgery for other reasons
- chronic infection (cold, flu, suppressed immunity from medication or poor lifestyle, bacteria, virus)
- sedentary lifestyle with or without poor diet and little exercise, and
- mental health conditions such as depression
How it works is... our lymphatic and circulatory systems work hand-in-hand. Blood brings nutrients to the cells, and lymph takes away the waste or toxins created through cellular activity.
When your glands are up, you are referring to your lymph nodes under the jawline. Lymph nodes will be fuller when the body is fighting bacteria or a virus, as there is more waste created by cells fighting the invading organism.
Our lymphatic system can get sluggish due to unhealthy lifestyle (eating high fat or sugary foods, no exercise, smoking, lack of water), mental or emotional stress (work pressure, relationship issues), surgery (lymphatics are cut or lymph nodes removed), illness or disease.
If you are feeling heavy, or bloated, or have oedema (swelling / fluid retention) in your limbs or belly - your lymphatic system is overloaded and needs treatment to get functioning again.
Lymph vessel walls are designed to collapse easily, so this is a medium to light pressure treatment. The lighter pressure activates your sympathetic nervous system to stimulate the movement of lymph through the vessels to the nodes and finally into the thoracic and right lymphatic ducts in the chest.
Ally works on watershed lines first clearing the lymph nodes, then stimulating the areas that drain into the nodes to activate, then again clearing the lymph nodes.
For proper effect, appointments on a regular cycle will be discussed with you and matched to your condition and response to the first two treatments.
